Koolitus on inglise keeles! This qualification is for managers with responsibility for developing their teams as part of their day-to-day role, or as an introduction to mentoring for newly qualified coaches.

 

 

TRAINER: Roger Stent (UK)

Roger is an executive coach, mentor and management trainer with over 20 years experience. 

He regularly coaches and mentors all levels of staff from Chief Executives downwards, and has a highly interactive and searching training style that encourages discussion and application through the use of Accelerated Learning techniques.

He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring through OPM (the Office of Public Management) and a Certificate in Life Coaching, and is a Member of the Association for Coaching. He is a TAP qualified trainer, and a registered practitioner of the British Psychological Society.

At present, Roger is a managing director and a leading trainer at ST*R Learning Ltd.

 


BENEFITS OF TRAINING

The overall benefits to learners are:

developing an understanding of the role and nature of mentoring;

utilizing mentoring skills to reflect on their own performance – learning key listening and questioning techniques;

understanding how to organize mentoring activities and plan for effective mentoring sessions;

reflecting on their own performance – defining the goals, progress and actions they need to improve.

 

2 days Workshop Program:

Learners will be expected to complete some pre-workshop exercises and questionnaires before the training starts.

DAY 1 

 

What is a mentor?

What are the benefits of mentoring, and the barriers to it being effective?

Becoming effective – the skills and techniques you need to develop

Giving feedback and building trust

Planning mentoring sessions with effective goals

DAY 2 

 

Identifying goals for mentoring sessions

Planning and organizing the sessions

Maintaining adequate records

Reviewing your own performance

The role of supervision

Rehearsal and practice sessions

 

 

METHODS AND SUPPORT

The theory sessions will be conducted using a variety of questionnaires, role plays and case studies, as well as tutorial input. Qualified Master Trainer uses Accelerated Learning techniques; the key learning process will be by discovery and exploration – it is not a lecture. These discussions will be supported by learners receiving a series of detailed ‘Further Reading’ packs containing many pages of detailed summaries of the models and concepts they will have been discussing. Also, there will be 2 home assignment tasks.

 

SUPPORT:

Personal Supervision – Each participant will be offered an online individual tutorial or personal mentoring supervision session, lasting about one hour.

Action Learning – In one hour Action Learning session learners will bring their own issues to discuss with each other and share insights or learnings they have acquired through reading or reflection.

Help-Line – Throughout the programme, learners will have access to a support service from trainer-coach.

Training volume:

16 academic hours (2 days) auditory learning

34 academic hours independent learning (‘written assignments based on your work environment and mentoring practice; executing mentoring sessions 3 x 1h; online supervision of trainer (1h personal session, 1h group session))

If learners are successful, they will receive the Award in Mentoring by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM is one of the leading providers of vocational qualifications in Europe).
